If you are thinking about joining Planet Fitness you may have heard about the unlimited guest privileges that they offer on specific packages. If like me you see “unlimited” you may think this means anything but this is not the case and we will explain this all to you today.

What are unlimited guest privileges at Planet Fitness? An unlimited guest privilege at Planet Fitness allows you to bring a guest per day for free but the “unlimited” is not tied to extra equipment and is aimed at only the basic Planet Fitness gym equipment. This “unlimited” is for the gym member to bring someone daily instead of limited to 1 or 2 per month as standard plans allow for.

For me this makes sense but I am not a huge fan of the word “unlimited” since it is aimed at the gym goers ability to bring one guest per day. To me that’s not unlimited in the first place as it isn’t even access to the same benefits as the gym member.

Its only specifically for access to the gym and its basic membership equipment and not the gym perks the member has nor unlimited guests in a day, so it is more uhm…limited like old cell companies.

What Can My Guest Use at Planet Fitness?

Guests are able to use all of the standard gym equipment like anyone else, so the weights, machines, and the main places like any spaces for running, basketball and the like.

This equipment will vary drastically depending on the gym near you and the space they have to fit their gym equipment. Some may have more gear than others so the member should research proximity versus benefits.

Can Black Card Guests Use Tanning or Other Extras?

Unfortunately your guests will not have access to any member Black Card membership perks such as tanning, massage chairs, and half priced cooler drinks.

How Old Does my Guest Have to be at Planet Fitness?

For the guest to come in and workout without a parent they need to be at least 18 years of age. This means once in they are going to be free to roam away from the member and perform their own private workout.

Planet Fitness does allow for children 13 years of age or older as long as they are there with their parent and under direct supervision. This can be an awesome way for a family to go to the gym and work on their health and wellness together.

Can You Bring the Same Guest to Planet Fitness?

That’s all and well as a way to introduce friends to the gym atmosphere and help them have a chance to see if it is a fit for you. But then, can you bring the same guest to Planet Fitness?

Within their plan this is allowed and not restricted, this allows you to bring in the same person each day if you are on the same schedule and wish to work out together.

This means you could continue to bring your workout partner on lifting days and possibly someone for alternate cardio days meaning you won’t be on your own and someone can help push you to your limits!

Is Planet Fitness Right for Me?

With their lunk alarm and lack of free weights Planet Fitness may not be the right gym for everyone, thankfully they understand this themselves and want you to come check it out prior to sign up.

If you are a fresh body and not a constant gym goer, on a budget, or just looking for a gym close to get a workout in more consistently then Planet Fitness may be your perfect gym.

Final Thoughts on What are Unlimited Guest Privileges at Planet Fitness

While they may be anti-bodybuilder or anti-heavy lifters they are working to create a welcoming fitness area to people who have difficulty even going to a gym, that is commendable and shouldn’t be made fun of.

The ability to bring a guest with you on each trip with a PF Black Card membership grants you many nice benefits as the member, I wish they had access to the benefits also but I can see how this could tax limited bonuses for other paying members.

If the perks are worth it then your guest can easily convert over to a member by speaking with the front desk and filling out the required paperwork, if it helps you then it is worth the investment in yourself!

If you still aren’t ready for a gym then we would suggest looking into building a home gym with Rogue Fitness but note this is a larger cost up front but then no cost per month after to help you see if the cost is worth it.

Tired of No Gym Equipment? Get started with Rogue Fitness Today!

My wife and I found Rogue Fitness for home workout setups and have been amazed at the quality and overall craftsmanship. With the current stay-at-home issues over the virus having a personal gym has become much more of my focus.

Purchasing the Rogue Fitness gear has allowed me and my wife to work out on a timetable that fits us. Also, this allows me to skip the gym as I always feel like people are staring and I am self-conscious of how I look still.

I can’t recommend them highly enough, they aren’t the most inexpensive but compared to a monthly charge for a gym membership you do start to become profitable over time by saving the monthly expense.
